I am an artist. My passion lies in making things, in particular pictures.

At an early age my bedroom was covered floor to ceiling with images from sophisticated fashion magazines such as Vogue and Elle.  Color, pattern, and fashion captivated me.  Inspired by the beauty of pictures I would sit on my bedroom floor and doodle with markers and paint. I was completely intrigued and curious by these materials and their possibilities.  I was also noticing that I was calmed by the feeling that came over me when I would sit down on the floor to “play” with my art materials.  To me the process of making art is magic and my thirst for competence to be able to say the things I wanted to convey through my art grew.   I received a formal art education with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The School Of the Art Institute of Chicago and then went on to receive my Masters of Fine Art from The University of Cincinnati.  My art career has been supported over time by having various side jobs and teaching. Though time has passed as I am a woman in her late forties with three teenage boys I still get that same feeling when I get out my materials to create. It has been my constant passion.

If you could say it in words there would be no reason to paint.
